THE INTRO

The San are the oldest people of Southern Africa, where they have lived for at least 20 000 years. The term San is commonly used to refer to a various group of hunter-gatherers livng in Southern Africa who share historical connections. The San were also referred to as Bushmen, but this term has since been abandoned as it is consisdered derogatory.

There are more than 14,000 of these paintings in South Africa. Nobody knows when San artists first started making rock art. They are still doing it today. But we do know about when the San people first got pushed into the Kalahari Desert. That was about 400 AD.

A FIRE "SAN STYLE"
The San also use to tell stories by the campfire, but they did not have story books like we have today. They had to draw the pictures

on the rocks or caves. If you want to read one or two of these amazing stories then CLICK HERE, OR HERE

Now what do The San live in?

Why they live in houses. But they are not made of bricks and cement, they are made of clay and twigs.
