Hieroglyphics represent as symbols that begin with a single consonant plus a vowel to be used by the native speaker.

Tutankhanun was an Egyptian pharaoh.

He was the son of Akhenaten.

He became king at the age of nine or ten.

When he was a prince he was known as Tutankhaten but when he became king he changed his name to Tutankhamun.

When Tutankhamun became king he married his half sister named Ankhesenepatan and later she changed her name to Ankhesenamun.

He was rediscovered in the 1920s.

There was a very popular exhibition called The Treasures of Tutankhamun.

This exhibition was shown in many countries and more than 1.6 million people came to see it.




Ancient Egyptian art is painting, sculpture, architecture and other arts and is very simbolic.

The Egyptians used a type of plant called Papyrus thats how paper gets its name.
